Summit Fire Consulting Completes Special Inspection for Target Field

Summit Fire Consulting has completed the smoke control Special Inspection at the Minnesota Twin’s new stadium, Target Field, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As smoke control Special Inspector, Summit Fire Consulting’s responsibilities for the Major League Baseball team’s new stadium included documentation review, equipment inspections, preparation of a testing plan, and coordination of sequence testing for the seven mechanical smoke control systems present in the stadium. Furthermore, Summit Fire Consulting coordinated the demonstration of the systems’ performance for witness by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Summit Fire Consulting’s final report provided detailed documentation of the Special Inspection process in order to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy, by demonstrating that the smoke control systems comply with the building code, fire code, and design intent. For this project, Summit Fire Consulting reported directly to the Minnesota Twins (as the Owner of the building) and facilitated resolutions to multiple fire life safety challenges for this unique structure during the construction process.
